Drupal for Project Managers
In this course you will find out how Drupal works well with a rapid-prototyping model of development. You’ll get hands-on experience and learn key terminology and processes used in Drupal development. You’ll learn about the typical roles in a development process, from site builders to themers. You’ll be better prepared to manage expectations and make decisions about custom versus contributed modules you choose for your project. You'll explore several case studies, and discover how they are relevant to your project. Along the way, you’ll be guided around pitfalls to avoid.
The skills required for effective management of a Drupal project are the same skills required for all forms of project management. However, there are specific aspects of Drupal project management which even experienced project managers will need to know.
By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared to manage your next project in Drupal to gather requirements, assign resources and tasks, and manage a productive schedule.
This course was created in conjunction with Tribeca Digital, an Acquia Training Partner.
Familiarity with the web development/software development lifecycle will help in getting the most out of this course.
This is for project managers with experience working with other platforms, but not Drupal, who want an introduction to Drupal. As well, “Accidental project managers”, who are tasked with managing a team to develop a Drupal site, but who are not Project managers by trade, will get a lot out of this course.
